Do I need any previous experience?

Dance industry experience is not necessary. Fred Astaire Dance Studios® wants our franchise owners to be energetic, financially stable team players with a desire to own their own business and a willingness to dedicate themselves. Qualified candidates should have profit and loss experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to demonstrate our core values of being loyal, authentic, passionate, and diligent.

Is financing available?

While we do not provide any direct or indirect financing, we work with third-party companies who can help with SBA financing through various lenders. Fred Astaire Dance Studios® cannot guarantee your obligations, including your note or lease.

What is the franchise fee?

The franchise fee is $30,000-$45,000 for the first location. It is discounted if you go into a development agreement for additional locations if the option for multiple locations is exercised at the time of the initial investment.

What is the royalty?

Fred Astaire Dance Studios® has a royalty of 7% charged on the weekly gross revenue, excluding sales tax.

Can I own more than one location?

Yes. We have many multi-unit franchise owners within our system. We believe that having these Owners, who operate more than one location, demonstrates our strength and excellence as a franchise. Because of this, Fred Astaire Dance Studios® encourages and incentivizes our franchise partners to purchase additional Studio locations via our multi-unit program.

What training is provided?

Fred Astaire Dance Studios® supports our new franchise partners with an initial training program. The intensive training, taught both in a classroom setting and in the studio location, covers all aspects of running a successful Fred Astaire Dance Studios franchise®. This includes, but is not limited to; corporate culture, product and service knowledge, member communication, customer service, studio operations, billing, cash management, opening and closing procedures, advertising, and promotions. Fred Astaire Dance Studios® continues to provide comprehensive support for the life of the franchise.

Is there a protected territory?

Yes. A Territory is a certain geographic area surrounding the Studio location and is determined by Fred Astaire Dance Studios® prior to finalization of the franchise agreement. It is our sole discretion and is dependent on population density, demographics, market trend and traffic flows. It is described in your Franchise Agreement.
